Jason is interested in identifying the drivers of Vallisneria americana, a non-native species of submerged aquatic vegetation, population persistence in freshwater and oligohaline portions of the Chesapeake Bay. Using complementary obversational and greenhouse approaches, he will test the relative importance of genetic diversity, interspecific interactions and landscape connectivity on V. americana predictability in time and space.
