| Marcela is studying the effects of exurban development on bird community. Her research is divided in three parts. First, she is interested in quantify the extension, magnitude, and pattern of exurban development in northern Virginia from 1990 to 2007 using aerial photos, high resolution imagery, and tax property data. Second, she wants to assess how the bird community had changed over time due to the expansion of exurban development. Third, she would develop a model to predict and forecast housing density based on historical land cover changes and socio-economic parameters. | |
